Jim Hunt should respond swiftly and strongly to the base calumny that Pat McCrory has cast upon his reputation.
McCrory was quoted as saying: “Jim Hunt is a hero of mine, he’s a mentor of mine….he’s been a great adviser to me.”
Governor Hunt, this slander must not stand. You don’t want people thinking McCrory has been taking your advice.
Or maybe McCrory will take your advice now. Maybe he’ll commit to raising teacher pay in to the national average. He can sign a petition to himself and the legislature right here.

This also shocks Republicans at the idea that McCrory would be following the ideas of a left winger like Jim Hunt.

I would have thought that everyone would be happy that McCrory made such flattering remarks about Governor Hunt. If there is any democratic ex-governor I'd like to see McCrory get advice from, it would be Hunt.
I know your little presentation here is more tongue-in-cheek and meant to be more "cute" than truly heart felt and just a lead-in to your site showing Hunt's beliefs on teachers pay. Know the truth? If you took a poll of republicans all around our fair state, you'd probably find most of them believing as I do that teachers in North Carolina do deserve a pay raise. I mean after all, they haven't had one in 5 years (you know, even way back when democrats could have given them raises). In case you haven't been following the news, McCrory DOES want to give our teachers a raise but wants to find a way to pay for it that doesn't include increasing taxes. I know, I know...liberal/progressives in our state like yourself think we should just come up with some kind of tax on all those rich, old white people living here so they don't have so much and that would pay for it, but really...that's not gonna happen, Gary. There are a lot of rich, old white democrats in our state and a whole lot of them are either legislators or bankroll democratic legislators so that little dog wouldn't hunt in the first place from either side. I hate to break that to ya, but it's how it is, man.
McCrory & Co. will find a way to get teachers a pay raise that is fiscally responsible. It's one thing I like about him. There's more to government "spending" than just paying out money. That money comes from taxpayers, nowhere else. And, In NC we our constitution says we have to live under a balanced budget. It's a bothersome bitch for democrats, I know, but at least we don't have all the problems California and other "progressive" states have with severe debt and horribly high taxes.

Oh for crying out loud. This "Anonymous User" here just HAS to be Gary Pearce. I mean, first of all everyone else except the two "owners" of this site and maybe Luther can't post a "clickable link" here. So, why not show who puts this TOTALLY progressive/liberal link here?
I know there are a lot of "low information" democrats that come to this site, so I guess they're fooled by this.
Like my wife says when I say something or show her something that is really kinda nebulous...."Whatever".

The Daily Haymaker hits the nail on the head for many Republicans on McCrory trying to cozy up to liberal Jim Hunt:

So, now I see that our "Anonymous User" here is, in fact, Gary Pearce. Go to the link here that "Anonymous User" posted then go back and read my post above.
Gary can't (or chooses not to) respond here to what we minions post, so he lets others do it for him. Amazing that the link uses the "tongue-in-cheek" phrase that I used. Hmmmm.....
It's pretty lame for Gary to post things like this in a clandestine way. It's actually pretty weak, in my opinion.
