Governor McCrory certainly isn’t the only politician “obsessed with his image.” But he shows it more than any politician I’ve ever seen.

Read Taylor Batten’s remarkable and revealing account of his hour-and-40-minute interview with the Governor. Batten, editor of the Charlotte Observer’s editorial page (which endorsed McCrory for governor) wrote: “This is a man obsessed with his image and how he’s portrayed. It’s clear he doesn’t go a day without being deeply frustrated by what he sees as unfair attacks on his good name.”

Three things come clear. First, it’s easy to get under McCrory’s skin. Second, he reads and remembers everything that is the least bit critical. Third, he can’t remember where he read it or who said it. He criticizes the media for getting things wrong, but he gets wrong what they got wrong.

You’re left with the impression of a man who is over his head and about to go under.

At one point, the Governor asked Batten: “What are the other eight things I said wrong by the way?...You had an editorial where ‘McCrory’s misstatements. Eight misstatements.’ I forget how many.”

Batten: “I tell him I don’t know what he’s talking about, and an adviser points out that he’s thinking of a news story written by a (Raleigh) News & Observer reporter.

McCrory says: “No. That was their editorial. Or was that a repeat? Maybe, I don’t know which ones I’m reading.”

Indeed he doesn’t.

It’s going to be a long three years, Governor.

There isn't a politician on the face of this earth that is perfect. Every single politician has his/her faults...makes mistakes...makes misstatements. The higher up the politician, the more those imperfections come out and are presented by his opponents. McCrory is no different than any conservative governor that is called out by his liberal/democrat foes for everything and anything they can point to that looks wrong-minded and/or wrong for whatever state they represent. The easiest thing to do as an opponent of an elected official is to find faults in them.

McCrory isn't a liberal. He's not a progressive. He's not a socialist. McCrory is a fiscal conservative and because of that, he's going to put forward a direction and policies for North Carolina that are fiscally conservative...sound policies that the majority of our citizens want to see for our state. You, Gary, present so many negatives toward McCrory that are well written with great spin and rhetoric and include only the negatives that you can find about him. We're seeing huge increases in industry coming here and existing industries expanding. From you? Chirp...chirp. That's a positive for McCrory..but not even a small atta-boy from you. Unemployment is going down here in our state...thanks to McCrory. People that truly need our taxpayer's help are getting it while those that "work" the system are being systematically eliminated from the system. Voters are being asked to show their ID to vote...something that the VAST majority of our citizens want per every poll taken on the subject. Medicaid is being taken away from our illegals...something the vast majority of our citizens want per every poll taken on the subject.

Sorry those things aren't what the minority radical liberal/progressives want here in our fair state. Sorry you don't like it. But, I like it...just like the majority of our citizens like it. Make it out to be anything you want and tell us all how it's going to hurt republicans. You're full of bull on that...and, you know it.

Can't put a "clickable" link here...and this link is one reason why. It puts McCrory in good light. I mean, that's the LAST thing Gary Pearce would want posted here for people to read.

Oh well....if you know how to do it (copy and paste this link to your browser line), and care about what good things our Governor is involved in...copy and paste it to your browser line. Otherwise...just be ignorant of the facts and think Gary Pearce here is some kind of good source of information:

Um, Mr. Anonymous User (I'm betting you're one of Gary's so-called "TAPsters"), there aren't many people here that don't know that both North Carolina Policy Watch and Progressive Pulse are radical liberal/progressive web sites. Just posting some article from either of those "media sources" (and I use that term loosely) is ridiculous. It would be like me posting some commentary by Rush Limbaugh via Fox News here. You and I both know that would have a severely conservative/republican slant and would prove nothing other than someone has an opinion one way or another on something. See if you can actually present your own comments rather than taking the easy way and just regurgitating a link to a biased site. It'll make you feel much better about yourself.
