“You have a Republican majority that is doing exactly what they were elected to do.” -
Claude Pope, state GOP chairman

“They really messed up when they screwed with the mothers, the teachers and the women.” - Shannon Shanks, Wilmington teacher

Well, in 2014 and 2016 we’ll find out who’s right.

Republicans may find that their biggest problem isn't just what they did, but how they did it. It was mean, angry and vengeful.

They fit right in with the face of the Republican Party nationally. In Washington, they are mean, angry obstructionists. In Raleigh, a mean, angry wrecking crew. Angry old white men lashing out at mothers, teachers and women, not to mention minorities, young people, older people, rural people, city people, gay people, sick people, not-rich people, you name it.

Republicans drew districts and passed a voter-suppression law to keep those people in their place. But Americans have this way of rising up when they’re told to sit down and shut up.

Even Republicans here worry about the overreach. They stay silent because they want to taste the fruits of victory.

But the way they’re going, the may be out of power for another 100 years.

"Mean, angry wrecking crew. Angry old white men lashing out at mothers, teachers and women, not to mention minoriies, young people, older people, rural people, city people, gay people, sick people, not-rich people, you name it".

Are you sure you didn't leave out any demographic, Gary? Hahahahahahahaha.....all I gotta say is WOW!!!!!! I've seen presentations about republicans being against different groups, but you've managed to include what seems to be ALL demographic groups in our country. Guess your going "all out". You know...it's like the old saying: "Go big or stay home".

What's so terribly troubling is that I'm convinced that you don't believe a word of what you've said. All of that is pure rhetoric and spin and innuendo posted to stir up those that will vote democratic regardless what is said or done. It's kinda like preaching to the choir. Everyone and anyone that would buy your B.S. here in that post of yours is already on your side, Gary. Most others, I'm convinced, are raising an eyebrow.

I LOVE this quote by you: "But the way they're [republicans] are going, they may be out of power for another 100 years". Well, that'll be true if the entitlement receivers and low-information voters outnumber those that work for a living in North Carolina and pay taxes and care about being responsible for themselves. Time will tell. If democrats do get back in power because the majority of the voters want more and more from government that republicans aren't willing to give to them, then it's the democrats' fault when North Carolina becomes just another Detroit. And if people like Gary Pearce here get what they say they want from government, that scenario will most certainly happen.

But, hey, that's not something you seem to be worried about, Gary. You're far more worried about your prospects for noteriety and financial gain through democratic power in our state. Democrats/liberals don't care about the long term affects of their beliefs...they're only concerned about current and short term power and influence. It's been that way since the 1960's.

I always love it when Democrats demand that Republicans stop acting a certain way or else they will lose the next election. That's like warning the opposing team that if they bunt the ball foul on the third strike they will be out. Why not let your enemy make the mistake. Some stupid Republicans actually believe what Democrats say.
