After the bell rang ending the Second Round of the Obama versus Boehner Fiscal Cliff-Sequester match-up, Obama danced around the ring arms raised as John Boehner staggered back to his corner wobbly-kneed.

Just six weeks ago, at the start of round two, the prim and proper Speaker was popular – viewed favorably by 29% of the voters and unfavorably by 21%. At the end of the round, Boehner’s buttoned down fastidiousness – along with his popularity – had vanished. He had a 23% favorable and 41% unfavorable – a drop of 26 points.

Worse, for a Republican Congressman needing the votes of Independents to be reelected, after Obama’s pummeling, the leader of the Republican Party’s popularity with Independents nose-dived to 14% Favorable and 49% Unfavorable.

Now Round 3 begins.

Troublesome statistics, for sure. And, what drives those numbers? Why would people in the U.S. actually feel so badly about our conservative/republican speaker anyway? Was it something he said? Was it because he's against anything and everything Obama says and wants to do? Yeah...probably.

And, so, who presents that to our populace and to those that would actually agree to participate in a poll like this that would then be presented to Americans...and especially we blogsters?

I think we all know how these poll numbers come about. If the mainstream press continuously presents negatives about Boehner and the republicans over and over and over and over again...who doesn't know that those that actually hear those presentations start believing that Boehner and the republicans are all against anything and everything "good" for America. It's good strategy and with the support of the mainstream media, that strategy eventually wins out. It's how it works. It's something republicans and conservatives are struggling to fight against and are mostly losing the battles in that regard.

Carter, you and I know the real deal, of course. We're pragmatic and realists. But, that's not what the majority of our citizens are, as it seems. They are led to believe that we're only going to survive in our country if we follow the progressive way. And, it's going to be tough to change that with most of the press supporting that ideology.

I'm bummed, but am still adamant about my own beliefs. Wish I knew what "we" could do to change what's happening in our country. But, alas, I don't.

A great mind at work.
“Rebuilding the middle class by the public investment is out of the question
because of the downward drag of a budget process that the president shares.”
The administration shares with Republican right and the corporate center-right the assumption that we achieve a full economic recovery by targeting a lower debt ratio by 2023 and that we reduce the debt ration by cutting the debt. The debt ratio comes down when the economy recovers”.
JOBS—DECENT PAY is our urgent need—Communities have been devastated by sending their jobs overseas.
