A veteran Raleigh observer says “Governor-elect Pat McCrory is off to a surprisingly rough start.”

Here’s the TAPster’s critique:

“He’s a seasoned politician but acts like an amateur (or a Wake school board member). Here are three examples of conflict where he should’ve known better:

“The N&O busted him for not quitting his rain-making job at a law firm. His critics are correct: he should’ve quit that job the day after the election. If he needs the money, he should pay himself from the generous transition kitty provided by the state.

“He got tangled up unnecessarily in the Dix mess. He’s not sworn in yet, so he could’ve taken a pass and let the current governor and legislators duke it out. And then clean up their mess later.

“He infuriated hundreds of Junior Leaguers by agreeing to take the spotlight off their sacred Inaugural Ball. Sounds like he will attend the Ball, but he also says he will attend another big inaugural event to raise money for a hurriedly created GOP political group. Why mess with a long-standing, harmless tradition other than to allow GOP operatives to take advantage of him to shake the tree for more money?”

TOP 2%
own 50% economic wealth—get 30% individual income
The tax increase:
Up to $500,000 Income will pay less than 1% of income
$500,000 to $ 1 Million will pay 2.5% of income on average
$1 million up average tax is 4.8% of income.
We need that Revenue to stop so much borrowing.
2013 budget projects $3800 Spending, $2900 in Revenue and borrow $900B.
We have an Income of $14,000 Billion. Shame on us to borrow so much so the rich can get ultra rich. 1945-1980, we paid our way by taxing wealth. Conservatives started the flush up of wealth.
Reagan + Bush were major factors. Spend and Borrow let kids pay tomorrow. Shame.

Ha-Ha-Ha!!! I laugh derisively at your pathetic attempt to find something about McCrory to criticize. There is not one single reason why anyone should quit his job before his next one begins. Good luck trying to convince anyone that's a "mis-step." People EXPECT the governor to have an opinion about important issues in state government; he would have been criticized (rightly) for staying on the sidelines.

But the really funny one is the Junior League complaint. Assuming that there is a single member of the Junior League who actually feels put out by the governor-elect's attendance at another event (which I highly doubt--unless by 'Junior League' you actually mean 'middle school girl's clique'), why should anyone else care? Elected officials attend such events all the time. No one group has a monopoly on any of em.

I knew that you would dedicate your time and space on this blog to making up lies about McCroy's administration, and trying to mislead people by inventing scandals and other problems out of thin air. After all, when it comes to misleading the public, you are a professional. I'm just amazed that your first effort here has been so pathetically lame.

Don't think the Junior League thing is going to get anybody upset. Seems to just be a bunch of hoity-toity ITB women. They're about as sympathetic a bunch as the Senior Men's Golf and Trumpets Committee at the Carolina Country Club.
