Democrats who worry about GOP control of state government can take heart: It won’t last long, judging from the Goldman-Malone mess.
It turns out that Republican Party leaders knew the whole tawdry and titillating tale, but still cleared the field for the School Board Soap Opera stars to run for higher office.
What were they thinking? That it wouldn’t get out? That nobody would care? That both Goldman and Malone would get elected – and it would never get out?
Pat McCrory says he’ll fix the “broken” government in Raleigh. Maybe he should start by fixing this.
Instead, he’s ducking it. Asked if he cast his early vote for Goldman, he told WBT reporter Chris Miller: “I voted for my Republicans. That’s what I did.”
When the reporter pressed him on whether that included Goldman, McCrory replied, “Thank you.”
It won’t be the last time he gets the question. There’s a debate tonight. And not much else to ask him about in the last two weeks of the campaign.

Oh, WOW! A couple of Republican politicians aspiring to state office admit to an affair, since ended. Now all the Democrats have to do is show how that has anything to do with, or any impact upon, their official duties and the R's will be toast!

Yeah, that'll make people forget generations of Democratic felonies in office. Buying and selling votes, envelopes full of cash passed in restrooms, illegal campaign contributions (shakedowns)...the list could go on for pages. But a couple of Wake County nobodies have a short-lived fling and all is forgotten. Right.

I don't know what you're on Gary, but it must be some pretty powerful stuff.

OMG...a sex scandal involving politicians?????? Imagine that!!!! hahahaha...really, Gary?

Oh, by the way, can we expect to get the democratic "talking points" with regard to Benghazi from you here? I think I read that you were in the military. Deep in your gut...just look deep in your gut, my man. This whole thing that is unfolding is every bit as big as Watergate....possibly FAR bigger. Of course, the press isn't going to let it get to that point (with the exception of conservative outlets). I really look forward to your spin on that.

You're grasping at straws if you honestly think this sex scandal going on here in NC will injure McCrory or other republicans. It's a pipe dream....but, with McCrory having had double-digit leads for so long, I can see why you're looking everywhere and anywhere for some hope.
