Rep. Todd Akin shouldn’t pull out (pardon the expression) of the Missouri Senate race.

First of all, he is the Democratic Party’s best bet to keep control of the United States Senate. So stand up to all those weaklings in the GOP, Todd! Stand up for what you believe!

Second, Akin may have gotten his biology wrong. But his philosophy is perfectly consistent with what many Republicans believe. The Republican platform committee just yesterday adopted a plank that makes no exceptions to allow abortion in cases of rape or incest victims.

The plank calls for a human life amendment to the Constitution and says "the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed."

Mitt Romney takes pains to say he doesn’t go that far. But nor does he go so far as to exercise any moral leadership to oppose the plank.

Rep. Akin represents an important part of the Republican coalition: people who believe that women who are rape victims and get pregnant should be forced to bear the child.

Let’s have a good old American debate about that proposition.

Gary...do you really...HONESTLY...believe that a huge number of republicans believe this? Really? C'mon, my man. This is ludicrous.

Got a link showing that? Any data showing that? This is just junk, my man. Who in the world believes that most republicans think that a woman that is raped should keep the baby that came out of that? Sure, there are those that do...I mean, in both parties, there are radicals. But, this is absolutely stoopid. I am surprised that you even posted this. I'm absolutely positive you don't think most republicans believe this. Crazy post. The only people that would believe this are those that are already so in the tank for Obama and voting for any and all democrats...so, why even post this? What a joke. I know some of your Daily Kos members and BlueNC members will laud you for saying this here...but, you don't believe that any more than I do. Guess it's all in who you want to impress.

Again...that's just such a joke of a FP post.

Nothing Gary ever posts surprises me anymore.

His words did get me to thinking about some "important" parts of the Democrat coalition. You know, those who want taxpayers to pay for abortions, no questions asked; those who wish to grant citizenship to all who demand it; those who think every worker must be made to join and support financially a union; those who believe all guns should be confiscated; those who believe our military is an evil institution that should be gutted or better yet, disbanded; those who believe we should abandon Israel to its fate and let the Arabs "give the Jews what they deserve"; those who think that corporations and rich people are evil and should be regulated and taxed out of existence; those who think that average Americans are fearful, bitter people who cling to their guns and their religion because they are too backwards and stupid to understand how and why their country is changing; those who think it's a good idea to borrow trillions of dollars and spend it on useless (and non-existent) "shovel ready" projects and make-work schemes; or those who think it's a good idea to let Mexican drug cartels buy thousands of guns in the US and take them back to Mexico with no way to track them, then when a US agent is killed by one of those guns to lie about it to Congress, then hide behind phony claims of executive privilege to keep the truth from coming out.

Surely only a small percentage of Democrats believe such garbage. Too bad they are so over-represented in the White House.

Great post, Carbine. What is really true is that there is a huge number of democrats these days that are just so jealous of people that have worked to accumulate wealth. They are the bitter ones. They want to make these wealthy scum suffer and to get their money without any kind of effort...just take it away and give it to those that don't take responsibility for themselves and their families. What is happening is that the democratic party is going after each and every vote they can get regardless where they get it. Radical muslim activists that openly hate America...the new black panther party that has openly said they think white babies should be killed....illegal immigrants that come across our southern boarder to have their babies on the American taxpayer's dime and to deal in drugs and to kill American law enforcement officials. It's doesn't matter that the people they are catering to are wrong for America, it only matters that they vote democratic. Think just what kind of America we're going to have if we dedicated American citizens actually let this happen. I'll be dead and gone when we see America a third world country full of graft and corruption and indiscriminate killing and lawlessness. It won't be good. But, the democrats will achieve what they wanted...political power. And, after they are successful in taking away all the wealth in our country from those that create it...our country is no more than just another failure that has come through trying to make everyone, regardless of effort, equal. God help us all.
