A veteran legislative hand and former lobbyist offers this perspective on how Raleigh has changed:
“If you want to really understand today's political world, understand how the politicians view the role of lobbyists.
“Democrats see lobbyists as a source of information to help them make a decision.
“Republicans see lobbyists as a source of funding to help them win the next election.
“It's as simple as that.”

That's a ridiculous slander. When the Democrats ran the General Assembly they soaked the lobbying community for years. It was only in the last few years of their reign that they put in some modest controls, which they carefully devised to prevent the lobbyist's principles from continuing to shower them with contributions. Republican legislators listen to knowledgable lobbyists just as the Democratic ones do, and are only as apt to press their principles for campaign cash their Democratic counterparts.

Now, Gary, instead of citing some abscure "TAPster", you're citing some "legislative hand and former lobbyist" (no name, of course). hahahaha Would that person actually be you, Gary? I mean, why all the secrecy about who you like to quote? You seem to be an honest guy....but, personally, I don't know about these people you are quoting here in your posts.

And, what a ludicrous comparison between democrats and republicans. They BOTH see lobbyists in the same way. To believe otherwise is ridiculous...and I don't think you believe that for one moment.
