I have worked for a company which had a fine BBB rating when I was there but had it falter after I had left: It if clear that Mr. Randall was at the school enrolled for 2 years in an MBA course which is more than enough time to complete a MBA so it would seem that he did complete it (probably); and I myself am a minister, served as a youth pastor for over 10 years, have performed over 12 marriages, 3 funerals several baby dedications and I do not have a degree in divinity either... that is not required... although at times it is helpful. Exactly how does that work? When I go to the website, I see a company that releases info only to educational institutions etc. I can't just look up someone. Per their privacy guidelines:

Requestors also agree not to re-release degree data to third parties (unless the requestor is a background screening firm releasing data to their employer client)."

I'm not defending Randall - if - IF - he's been misrepresenting his record. But I would hardly believe the word of someone who is digging up dirt on a political opponent using unethical means.

Well, I have voted for Randall. I want to know the truth. How can the truth be "hidden" here? I'm confused about this (and yeah, I know I'm not always the best at understanding stuff like this). I have a degree from Elon College (now Elon University...I'm an old bird so that was eons ago). I know for a FACT that if someone wants to know if I have that degree, that is easy information to get.

I don't know. Am I missing something here? I don't care to read Randall's themes or thesis' or dissertations or see his grades and such. I DO want to know if what he's saying about his education is fact or fiction. Is that too much to ask? Is that too much to find out?

I do not think Reeves is smearing. And, Randall has stated that there are things we should know about Reeves but Randall refuses to play "gutter politics."

Integrity, financial responsibility and background are important issues to bring out in a primary. If not now . . . when? We need the strongest republican to face Miller.

Austrian Heir, Two weeks ago Bill Randall’s college, National Louis University, reported Bill did not have an MBA. Bernie Reeves campaign asked Bill to explain that discrepancy.

At first, Bill told the News and Observer he’d completed the courses of study and qualified for a degree but hadn’t received a diploma because he hadn’t paid a $35 fee.

Later, he told WPTF radio he’d completed his studies in early 2007 but owed the college money for a course taken in 2006, which hadn’t been paid until this year. At any rate, two weeks after reporting Randall didn’t have an MBA, the college has now reported it has awarded him a diploma (this year).

When a candidate says he has a degree and his college says he doesn’t – it’s fair to ask for an explanation.

I thank Carter Wrenn and Bernie Reeves for bringing issues out. The only way we can be a prepared voter is to be an informed and educated voter.

I am concerned about Bill Randall's lack of fiscal responsibility. Due to family deaths, I did not attend my undergraduate or graduate commencement ceremonies. I did not have to pay extra money - I was just sent the diplomas.

Mr. Randall's fiscal issues go beyond the payment for some class. I have an issue about why Mr. Randall would enter into signed employment agreements (without legal assistance) to pay staffers when there was absolutely no money to pay the staffers. That reminds me of the US Congress voting yes on entitlements that we as taxpayers cannot afford. We cannot spend money we do not have! Mr. Randall really should explain this lingering issue of his fiscal irresponsibility.

We would be hiring Bill Randall to make decisions about how our (NC13) taxpayer money is spent. And, he has made very bad fiscal decisions that obligate his campaign.

This is not mud-slinging. It is a valid concern of mine and may other voters with whom I speak.

In contrast, Mr. Reeves has no known issues of fiscal irresponsibility.

Carter -- enough with the gotcha politics. I voted for Randall first time around; was going to switch to Reeves this time, but the campaign you've run has convinced me that Reeves is an a**h**e. Enough. Why can't you run a campaign based on Reeves' character instead of Randall's?

Chris - the primary is all about finding out who is the strongest candidate to beat Brad Miller. There are glaring questions in Randall's CV. For example, on Bill's web site, he says he is 53 years old and he left Navy after a 27 year career. He left Navy in December 2001.

That means Bill was 42 when he left the Navy. 42-27=15. Did Bill Randall join the US Navy at age 15? Why so young? Did he graduate from high school very early?

Why did Bill leave after we were attacked (ie in 2001) when patriots were scrambling to enter? And why was Bill working as a stock shelver at Home Depot in Chicago on 9-11 when we were attacked? Was he called in to work at Navy that day since he was such an important officer?

Financial responsibility, integrity, knowledge of issues, experience making business decisions are answers we need BEFORE we send any R candidate out to face Brad Miller.

I dont know Carter Wrenn. I loved Jessie Helms. I think Bernie's campaign is fine. I am concerned about Bill's veracity and the latest conspiracy theory on oil demonstrates a basic lack of knowledge about deep off shore drilling leases.

Bill says he knows "stuff" about Bernie. If true, Bill owes us that information so we can be completely informed voters.
