Here is, perhaps, the ultimate irony: Former KGB head and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is warning the United States against socialism. Quote: The U.S. should take a lesson from Russian history and not put its faith in “excessive intervention in economic activity and blind faith in the state’s omnipotence because socialism doesn’t work.”
“In the 20th Century,” Putin said at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, “the Soviet Union made the state’s role absolute…. In the long run, this made the Soviet economy totally uncompetitive. This lesson cost us dearly.”
We battled the Soviets over the evils of Socialism for 35 years.
Now they’re warning us it doesn’t work.
How’s that for the pot calling the kettle black – and having a point?
