soph, you have definitely found a candidate in the 10th district primary whom conservatives can vote for.  in fact, i have sent an email to a relative who lives there suggesting that vote.   However, to send a check, I would look at whether the candidate is running an active campaign and has some chance at success.  I do not see that by looking at his website, unfortunately.  There is no solicitation for either funds or volunteers, no schedule of upcoming events, press accounts, etc. - in short no sign that this is an active campaign.  Do you have any info to the contrary?  I would note that he identifies himself as being a member of the Tea Party which is a real positive, although Renee Ellmers did that too and we have seen what she has done since she was elected.

It is interesting that NRCC is playing both sides in several races for Congress in NC in its Young Guns program. In the 7th district, both principal candidates, Pantano and Rouzer, have made the list, and in the 11th, both Hunt and Meadows have. In the 9th, it has been announced that Pittenger is also on the lower level of the list, but it is not on their website yet.

The only real surprise is their inclusion of Pantano, and their lack of inclusion of Holding or Hudson.

This is a good indication of the NRCC beltway establishment's candidates.

I concur on the 7th (Pantano), 8th (Keadle), 9th (Killian), and 13th (Coble). Also not sure on 11th.

The Campaign for Primary Accountability, the anti-incumbent Super PAC is now targeting Walter Jones in his primary.

http://www.campaign4primaryaccounta...ter-jones/

This group has shown it will spend some money going after those it targets.  This means Jones will have a closer primary than usual.  Being there a long time seems to be what this group objects to more than anything.  It first scalp was a moderate Repubican, of only a few terms but with some ethics problems and the beneficiary was a conservative Tea Party challenger.  However its second scalp was a long serving conservative, Manzullo, who stuck to principles and would not allow the leadership to lead him around by the nose, and the beneficiary was a young ''Tea Party phony'' who in one term had abandoned Tea Party principles and become a leadership  brownnoser. That was actually an incumbent vs. incumbent race due to redistricting.  So this PAC sometimes takes down bad guys and sometimes good guys.  But whatever you think of Jones, he is now in their crosshairs.

NC-11, Jeff Hunt. jeffhuntforcongress.com

Care to explain your reasoning on that?  What makes you think Hunt is the best conservative in the race?  Will he stand up to the wimpy GOP leadership when they play surrender monkey, or will he be a leadership lap dog like the very disappointing faux tea party candidate we elected in the 2nd district, Renee Ellmers?

I see that Eric Cantor has endorsed Walter Jones in his primary. Eric Cantor is as beltway establishment as it gets, and recently endorsed the liberal in a primary between two incumbents in Illinois, which was highly controversial with conservatives. It also means that Jones will now probably owe his sole to the beltway leadeship. This is very troubling because it was Jones willingness to stand up to the leadership from time to time that gave him some appeal since his voting record started veering left. Now that is gone. This was a bad endorsement.

Cantor, this season, is an endorser of RINO's in GOP primaries, which is why his endorsement of Walter Jones is NOT a positive for Jones among conservatives.  His bunch is even getting into helping RINO's in US Senate primaries as in Indiana:

Now that worthless anti-conservative beltway manipulator Eric Cantor is pushing establishment lap puppy Richard Hudson in the 8th district primary.  We really need to smash all the Cantor clones out there.  We need to get behind Scott Keadle.

http://www.redstate.com/dhorowitz3/...e-in-nc-8/

Next time we need to primary that stinking Cantor right in his own stinking district and get him the hell out of Congress.

I'm on board with eliminating what you, R, identify as "RINO's"....but, baby steps, my man. One race at a time....one candidate at a time....one campaign at a time. We need to stop beliving that we can stroke a wide brush and just rid ourselves of these kinds of politicians. Worse-to-bad should be where we put our efforts. Let's get "in power" first...then get rid of our "RINOs" as we progress along our path to bringing our political system back to conservative values.

Love your focus. And, I'm on board with ya. I even have now contributed to some of those that you say you contributed to.....just because you did it. But, it's like playing golf. If you're not playing well, you have to play one hole at a time and get your birdies one hole at a time and not think about all of the upcoming holes ahead. Focus on what can be achieved now...not what needs to be achieved in the future.

Thanks, my friend.

Here is another good reason to support Pantano over Rouzer in the 7th - Rouzer has been endorsed by two of the worst beltway leadership lapdogs in the current delegation - Ellmers and McHenry.

http://projects.newsobserver.com/un...r_congress

We do NOT need another Ellmers or another McHenry in the NC delegation. We need to get rid of the ones we have.

Well, in the 8th district, they are NOT playing both sides and they have gone beyond an endorsement.  Eric Cantor's ''Young Guns'' PAC is spending money doing a mailing for ultra-squish beltway flunky Richard Hudson.

Are you sure they aren't doing anything like that for Holding?

So who do you R's support in the 2nd? Elmers has several opponents. Whomever comes out of the primary might have a tougher than expected race should Steve Wilkins of Moore County win the Democratic nomination.

As to Renee ''Disappointing'' Ellmers, I can only respond with what Red State had to say about her today:

More on the 8th district from Red State:

http://www.redstate.com/erick/2012/...r-retreat/

I saw that Virginia Foxx came out for leadership lap puppy Hudson, but Foxx herself has been a major leadership brownnoser this last session, so I guess its another birds of a feather situation.
